Computer Science 60
Principles of Computer Science, Fall 2004
- You may take the final exam on either Tuesday, December 14 or Friday,
December 17.
- The exam is a 3 hour and 15 minute "takehome" exam. The exam
itself is 3 hours long, but you may take an additional 15 minute break
(no writing during this break) anytime you like.
- You may check the exam out on the
day that you want to take it (Tuesday or Friday) anytime after 1:15
PM. The exam is due back on the same day at the same location by 5
PM.
- You will need to sign a sheet indicating that you've taken the
exam out and then sign the exam back in when you return it. We do
this for your protection to make sure that your exam is accounted for.
- If you plan to take the exam on Tuesday, December 14, you will
check it out and return it to Ms. Joyce Greene in the CS office in
Olin 1258.
- If you plan to take the exam on Friday, December 17, you will
check it out and return it to Ms. Suzanne Frantz in the Math office in
Olin 1260.
- You may use two 8.5 by 11 sheets of paper with your notes
on them (front and back). You will include these with your exam when
you submit it.
- The exam will have 5 questions on it and an optional bonus
problem.
You will have to write code in most or all of the languages that we
have studied in this course.
The amount of code that you'll have to write will be modest, with an
emphasis on principles and problem-solving
skills and not on writing gobs of code!
The material since the last exam (models of computation, proofs about
the limits of what various models of
computation can do, and analysis of algorithms) will be slightly
emphasized since this material has not appeared
on previous tests.
