New User Orientation

At the beginning of each semester, the student staff offer approximately two orientation sessions for new users. Although it is not currently required to attend orientation to recieve an account on turing, it is highly recommended, by both the student staff and the faculty, that students attend.

The orientation gives a brief overview of the basics of navigating UNIX, a description of how the honor code relates to all users, and most important of all, information about how to obtain help while using turing.

In addition, a useful handout is distributed at the orientation.
