All office hours will be held in Painter Hall, Room 5.40.
If you are unable to meet during my office hours, please check my schedule and e-mail me to set up an appointment.
Grading Policy
I will be grading all the homeworks. Professor Werth has emphasized consistency in grading, which means that I will attempt to use unified standards to determine each student's score. If you feel that I have been inconsistent in my grading, please come see me--this is a serious concern.
When you miss a problem on the homework, I will provide some clue as to why you missed points. There probably will be some problems on each homework that several people miss. Rather than write the correct answer on each paper, I will post solutions to these problems. Before you come see me about a grade, please check the posted solutions. I am happy to discuss misgrading (e.g., I have marked something wrong that you think is right or I have miscalculated your score). However, if you want your score re-evaluated, remember that it has the potential to increase or decrease.
Update: I have restricted access to the homework solutions so that only students in Dr. Werth's class may retrieve them.
01.14.03: Shortened class. Three handouts distributed. Instruction begins Thursday, January 16, 2003. All syllabus dates are moved back by one class period.
02.19.03: I have restricted access to the homework solutions. If you missed the announcement in class, e-mail me and I will send you the login and password.
02.21.03: I was sick on this day and could not come to office hours. Please e-mail me if you would like to set up another time.
02.25.03: No class today due to inclement weather. Homework 5 is now due Tuesday 3/4.
