CS 5 Your Grade

If you satisfy all the following, you will get a passing grade in the course:

• Pass the final exam,
• NC no more than 3 of the homeworks and NC no more than 2 homeworks in the second half of the course,
• Have no more than 2 unexcused absences from lab, and
• Turn in good faith attempts at all but, at most, 2 quizzes.

NC's on the individual problems of multi-problem homeworks, or failure to turn in the design part of a homework, will be counted as appropriate fractions.

We also use the following factors to determine which borderline students pass and which students get a high pass, as well as to compute letter grades for upperclassmen and off-campus students.

• Your grades on the two midterms,
• Your numerical homework grades,
• The extent to which you have attended labs and recitations, and turned in quizzes.
