I found a half-dozen or so typos in the Walris SRS. Most of them are pretty
obvious, but if you want a corrected version, you may find it at:

Thanks.

For CS 81 students who use LaTex, there are some macros that help
you draw proofs with boxes, courtesy of Alan Davidson. They can be
found at:

    http://www.cs.hmc.edu/courses/current/cs81/boxes/

(I've been doing them with Powerpoint, drawing the boxes over auto-numbered
lines.)

As one team pointed out yesterday, the specifiation of the Walris script is
missing an important item: how to launch a shape. Accordingly, I'd like to add
the following to the list of functions 0-14:

15. launch shape, which is followed by the number of the shape to be
launched and the orientation (0 as given, 1 rotated 90% clockwise,
    2 rotated 180%, 3 rotated 270% clockwise)

So unlike the other functions, this one is followed by two arguments.

Assume that the shapes are numbered in the order in which they are
read from shapes.txt, starting with shape number 0.

Thanks.

CIS doesn't seem to get the idea that I want a class directory on
Charlie now, so while we're waiting, you can get the sources and
project files from turing here:

The Henway project file for Visual Studio is there too.

If you have problems accessing anything, please see the Help Desk

In case you haven't passed this point already, to draw things
like rectangles in Windows GDI (Graphics Device Interface, as used in the first
project) you can find reference information here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/gdi/fillshap_6i0k.asp

The root of the GDI documentation is:

It seems that we are having problems both with the Charlie directories
and with the wikis, which are run by two different sys admins, and
neither will be in before Monday, no doubt.

Try not to panic. I'll give extra time if needed. This is frustrating
for all of us.

There is supposed to be a separate "web" for each team within the wiki
site.

I set up the model as Team1, but Tim has not cloned it yet.

Once they are set up, please do not modify the Topics on the wiki. You
can add to
them, but I would like for the given minimal structure to be invariant
across
teams.

Guidelines for CS 121 Final Presentations

Each team will have nominally 25 mins in which to present and answer questions
about their project. Each team member should speak, ideally about the same
amount of time per member.

Please follow these guidelines, using this as a checklist:

    (3 mins) Transition and setup.

(3 mins) Brief review of your product definition, intended users, etc.

Speak as if you are presenting it to a fresh audience who has not
heard all of the interim presentations.

(3 mins) Demonstration of your product.

(1 min) Summary of the release state of your software (e.g. how can it be
downloaded and/or used in its current form?).

(2 mins) Brief summary of final use cases (number, and a typical one), and
qualitative comparison overall with original conception.

(3 mins) Brief summary of design, and qualitative comparison with
        original design.

(2 mins) Actual work breakdown, plan, and development method
(including personnel assignments), and qualitative comparison with
        original statements.

(2 mins) Summary of your testing process and its outcomes, including
        mention of any known errors.

(2 mins) Things you learned from the course materials that were the
        most useful in the project.

(2 mins) Most important things outside of the course materials
that you learned during the project.

    (2 mins)
Brief walkthrough of your wiki site, indicating what is there.

All material should be accessible from your wiki site when you present.
It should stay there after you leave.

Thanks.

Bob

I have checked the machine in the LAC. The computer at the
instructor's desk is connected to the projector and all works.
If you want to make sure that your particular setup works
(e.g. you are using a different machine) please try to check
it out in advance.

Thanks.
