Playing Game

You start with the same base character each game. His attributes increase according to level but his items, spells, and attacks are based on your choices.

The top of the screen displays the status of the character and of the enemy. Current Hit Points are displayed first and current Action Points second. Hit Points are the amount of health or life you have. Action Points represent the energy you expend to execute complex spells and moves.
The left, white stick figure represents the player and the right red stick figure represents the enemy.
During battle, you are given a menu at the bottom of the screen with your available attacks and spells. When you choose a move, it will calculate whether you hit and how much damage you do. If you do not have enough Action Points to execute the chosen move, you will be given an error message and a chance to choose a new attack.
If you have less than half AP, you can choose to Charge AP. This takes a round away in return for 10% of your maximum AP returned. The enemies can also Charge AP.
After your attack is evaluated, the enemy retaliates. For each attack, you will see an animation and an output message. The battle continues until either the character or enemy reaches zero hit points. If you lose, you must start over.

After battle, you go into the Purchase mode, which allows you to see your inventory and to obtain new items and moves.
If you are victorious, you gain back half of your maximum HP and AP. In addition, you gain experience and gold from the vanquished foe.
If you gain a new level, your attributes increase. In addition, the purchase menu will display a Moves option that allows you to choose one of two new moves. These new attack moves do not cost gold.
You can also purchase new armor, weapons, and spells. Your spellbook is of infinite capacity, but you can only have one weapon item and one armor item at a time.

After you select done in the purchase menu, you return to the Arena to fight. A new enemy is chosen from the game enemy progression. The game continues as described until you lose or you defeat the final enemy.
