Individual Log for Ben Pellow
Before I started keeping track of hours:
Brainstormed with group about games.
Brainstormed Contepts and Criteria of a good game with group members.
Typed concept slide for in class presentation of the possible game topic: Donut Ralley. We, clearly, ended up not choosing this one.
2/5/04 in the evening and 2/6/04
Prototype
Found and cleaned origninal HMC map for Forrest to begin a prototype background on.
Made the score method round based to keep score of the players score per round.
Made a new score variable called Total Score, keeping track of the sum of all previous Round Scores.
Made the goal class that creates the Scrippsie goal and determines their actions upon reaching it. Implemented first approach at round mechanic.
Fixed/ Edited prototype background image
Changed Display bar at bottom of screen to include Score and Total Score.
Did edits of Forrest's first draft of game design document.
2/15/04 7-11pm
Made Round Mechanic work correctly, including:
The game now ends when more than the quota of Scrippsies reach the goal before being squirted.
The new Scrippsie seed critters now begin anew each round.
Made the Scrippsies not reappear on the screen when they reach the goal.
Made original Scrippsie and Water Commando sprites.
2/16/04-2/17/04 8pm-7am stayed up all night working on everything else that went into the final game with Forrest.
Fixed the Total Score bug, so that the Total Score resets to zero upon new game start.
Further fixed round mechanic, making the game not end upon reaching your round's quota of scrippsies. Instead, the round ends when ALL are squirted or reached the goal. This makes for more intersting score comparison and a more defined round.
Made new Scrippsie and Water Commando sprites used in animated characters. 3 for the Scrippsie, 8 for the Water Commando. ALL FROM SCRATCH by my hand. Essentially, all graphic design except the background was me.
Made water faucet sprite and water balloon sprite (balloon not used in game design yet).
Made the Total Score increment real-time, instead of previously when it incremented at the end of each round.
Made all the statistics in the bottom bar stay the same when the game over screen displays, and when the next round screen displays, not reseting until play resumes on new game or round.

Things With Forrest after 2am, working together on one account:
Fixed display bar again to remove unwanted info from base code, adding the denominator (quota per round) to the Round Score, adding a Round display, adding an available scrippsies count, and a water guage.
made scrippsies start in a random box
increase scrippsie speed per round / further tune ai
added water faucet to refill water
made controllers for Scrippsie and Water Commando animated sprites.
made water faucet increment water supply.

Made the power point presentation slide show for our final product.
