Jim Boerkoel received his B.S. in both Mathematics and Computer Science from Hope College in 2006 followed by his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2008 and 2012 respectively.  Jim's dissertation work focused on developing distributed approaches for multi-agent scheduling and coordination.  Prior to joining HMC in 2014, he worked as a Postdoctoral Associate with the Interactive Robotics Group at MIT.  Jim currently directs the Human Experience & Agent Teamwork Laboratory (HEATlab) at Harvey Mudd.  The mission of the HEATlab is to develop robust techniques for human-robot teamwork that augment and exploit the relative strengths of humans and robots.  Learn more at: http://www.cs.hmc.edu/HEAT/
