Geoff Kuenning received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 1973 and 1974, respectively. After obtaining his master's degree, he worked as a software engineer and programmer until 1979, when he became a consultant for computer software projects.He became the principal consultant at Interrupt Technology Corporation from 1984 to 1998, during which time he completed a PhD in Computer Science at UCLA. In 1998, he began work at Harvey Mudd College. His research focuses on file systems, perhaps his most visible project being the SNIA IOTTA Trace Repository, a compendium of trace data used by file systems researchers worldwide. He also serves as an expert witness due to his extensive experience in industry and research in file systems.
