3Eitan Glinert defines the four dimensions of usability, Learnability, Simplicity, Efficiency, and Aesthetic.  [http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/4110/upping_your_games_usability.php Site] Although complex and large games often cannot perform well in all four dimensions, we believe that our design can, due to its simplicity. The following rationale explains how we have created our UI Design in light of these 4 dimensions of usability.

55'''Learnability''': Like many games, we have provided the option of a tutorial for novice users. This tutorial walks the player through the different icons in the game, the hover and click actions, and how to make a policy. In addition, we have designed the game so that a tutorial isn't absolutely necessary; the game only requires using a mouse, the information panel always provides instructions for lost users, and buttons conform to most games. Even without the tutorial, players can discover hover and click game mechanisms by exploring the map as this is simple with mouse interactions. All game mechanisms are very simple in the first level. However, these mechanisms will be applied to more complex situations later on. For example, once tariffs are unlocked, clicking on the tariff policy button will cause multiple resources to light up, giving the user a choice. However, since the user as already learned this mechanism through the tax policy, we believe that this task will not present any difficulty to the user.
