Requiem traces with complete honesty the dangers of addiction. The viewer is guided through the loss of love, self and sanity of a group of people in Brooklyn caused by their complete dependence on drugs; drugs which give them a dream for a better life when the world has nothing left to offer. Given a taste of their own deepest desires, they face nothing but disillusionment and hopelessness. The empowering effects of the drugs wear off far too quickly, and dreams that seem just within reach are torn away from them and replaced with the unimaginable nightmares of their own lives.
