AllisonSchubauer's two passions in life are progressive rock/metal and art. Since coming to terms with her terrible sense of rhythm and complete inability to sing anywhere near on-key, she has given up on her childhood dream of being in a rock band. After a semester of Music Theory, she still cannot hear the difference between a major and a minor chord. She has since devoted herself to drawing and painting and has ambitions to develop a career in fine art and/or illustration. Her favorite band (since she was 12) is Rush. Her favorite artist (since she was 16) is Max Ernst. She reads novels of the literary and/or sci-fi/fantasy persuasion sometimes (favorite authors include Michael Chabon, Milan Kundera, Neil Gaiman, Robin McKinley?, and Ursula K. LeGuin?). She wanted to be a fantasy writer as a child, but has since mostly lost interest in that. She likes graphic novels, especially trippy ones, and thinks that Cages by Dave McKean? is the pinnacle of the art form. Has reconciled her love for art and her love for stories into the aspiration of someday creating her own mind-blowing graphic novel. |
