BioMajor is a small, hairless creature with lots of pointy teeth. It eats once a day and bathes regularly, rinsing 3x with deionized water.
The BioMajor attends (well, registers for) many boring classes in pursuit of its degree. Among these are:
- Bio 54: Intro lab
- Bio 101: Structure and Function
- Bio 108: Ecology
- Bio 109: Evolution
- Bio 113: Molecular
- Chem 56: Carbons
- Chem 58: Carbons Lab
- Chem 105: Organic
- + extra, + research
This is why you see so many of us in upper-division tech courses.
Much of the BioMajor's time is spent avoiding class, work and graduate school.
Oh, *this* isn't biased. A bit like a Marxist describing America. *honk*
There are actually, contrary to popular belief around CS-centered communities (*cough* EastDorm *cough*), many good reasons to be a BioMajor, mainly:
- You get to take labs that are fun.
- You actually get credits reflecting the amount of work required for labs, unlike Chemistry.
- You get to work with dangerous (a.k.a. "cool") stuff.
- You will get lots of good writing experience.
- Clinic? What's clinic? Take TheSis, set your own hours, and never have to fight with a team of people ever.
- Unless you are a crazy Mo-Bio person and take PhysicalChemistry (says the crazy Mo-Bio person), the worst class you have to take is O-Chem. It's the major without the suck.
- Worried about money in grad school? Not if you're a BioMajor!
- Now, you can take the MathBio track, which Wiki says is a GoodIdea. Wiki is never wrong.
