Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 stick butter (The recipe SarahFletcher was theoretically following called for 1/2 a stick, but Sarah has become bad at following recipes and it came out delicious with the full stick.)
- 1 lb box of powdered sugar (aka confectioner's sugar)
Instructions
- Let the butter and cream cheese sit out for a little while so that they are softer and easier to work with. You can theoretically put them in the microwave briefly to soften them, but it is easy to accidentally completely melt them that way and you don't want that.
- Mix the butter and cream cheese until you have a mostly homogeneous mixture.
- Add the powdered sugar a little bit at a time and mix well after each addition. If you add to much sugar at once you are likely to end up working in a cloud of powdered sugar and have sugar all over everything ;-).
Notes
- If you put a couple spoonfuls in a clean plastic bag and cut a tiny hole in one of the corners of the bag you can doodle with the frosting!
- Mixing a few drops of food coloring with a couple large spoonfuls of frosting is a good way to get colored frosting to decorate what ever it is that you are frosting...
