Almost One

Xandie's first birthday has passed. But before it arrived, she still had to take care of a few adventures.

With daycare friends First, she made some new friends at daycare. As usual, they're happy and Alexandra isn't. We think that maybe she doesn't like sharing the camera.
She went to hear Dad play tympani in a concert by the Symphony of the Canyons. Afterwards, she tried out the drums herself. She had a great time! Dad wants her to be a percussionist. Mom says, "Over my deaf ears!" Playing Dad's tympani
Ringing bells To support Dad's position, Xandie takes a music class where she gets to try out all sorts of different instruments, mostly percussion. As you can see, they both love the little sticks with bells on the end. On the other hand, her T-shirt indicates that she may have her own opinion about her chosen musical career.
Giving her lamb a ride One of her Easter gifts was a battery-powered lamb from Grandma Cherie. It walks along and says "Baaah." Xandie gave it a nice tour of the back yard in her toy shopping cart.
Alexandra is very much a little water baby. She loves to splash in the fountain. This picture was snapped when she was 364 days old and getting ready to celebrate. Playing in the fountain

The Big Birthday

Finally, the big day arrived. Naturally, all of our friends wanted to be present, and we took tons of pictures. We've tried to control ourselves, however, and have selected only the best for posting on the Web.
At first, Mom had to help her open things... Opening with Mom's help
Opening on her own but she soon got the hang of it.
One of the many gifts was a set of letters that hook together like a jigsaw puzzle, and spell her name. She was very eager to learn how to use it. With her namesake toy
In her new swing The "big" gifts were back-yard play equipment. Since we hadn't hung her new swing yet, Daddy had to pretend to be a tall tree.
Dad helps learn about slides Xandie loves her new combination playhouse and jungle gym. At first, Dad had to help her down the slide...
Head-first! but soon she was doing it all on her own.
The party finished off with the de rigeur cake-all-over-the-face ritual. The birthday girl looked pretty good before being served... Before cake
but afterwards, she had a few decorations of her own. After eating a
