It's been over 6 months since the last time we scanned Xandie pictures, and as usual she's been busy growing and learning. Her vocabulary has exploded, and she now has a repertoire of perhaps 15 songs (she knows the tunes, but doesn't get all the words right).

For Halloween, we had hoped to dress Xandie as a fairy princess.
But she refused to wear the tutu, so we threw it in a box and
forgot about it. A couple of months later, she decided to get
adventurous. But with the creativity of a typical 2-year-old, she
insisted that the most appropriate matching attire was a
sweatsuit and Mommy's shoes. Trendy, huh?
Not long after, she attended her first Hawaiian luau/Jewish wedding -- and ours too, come to think of it. The leis were a big hit: she insisted on wearing every one she could find, simultaneously. |
|
| After the wedding, we stayed in a hotel so we could go to the beach the next day. It wasn't really Daddy's idea of a good beach day, what with all the fog. But Mommy is from San Francisco, so she told Xandie that it was just perfect. As you can see, Xandie shares her mother's opinion. |

| It's fortunate that our house doesn't have any rules about reading at the breakfast table, since Alexandra is still an insatiable book lover. She seems to be staying incognito, though. Perhaps she's worried about her fan club? |
|
| It seems like only yesterday that Xandie celebrated her first birthday, but it's been a full year. This time, our two-year-old knew exactly what to do with the cake--and with the presents. "No, Nick, you can't have that truck. It's mine!" |
|
| We confess that we didn't expect Xandie to develop a big interest in clothes until she was thirteen or so. Boy, were we wrong! For her birthday, her honorary Nana gave her an adorable hat that has hardly come off since. And she must have heard the phrase "pretty in pink," because she decided to go way overboard when she accessorized. |
|
| About a month after her birthday, Alexandra's Uncle Shelby came to visit, bringing with him a very special gift--the rocking horse Shelby, Daddy, and Brad had ridden when they were little. Uncle Shelby had put hundreds of hours into refinishing and restoring Taffy, who now looks as good as new. This picture shows Xandie taking her very first ride (you can even see the shipping box in the background). |
| Xandie has been having lots of new experiences. One of them was a trip to the park to fly a kite. Luckily, it was perfect kite weather, so after Daddy figured out how to assemble the thing, Pooh and Piglet went straight up in the air, accompanied by cries of joy and a lot of excited hopping. |
