Bending the upshift lever return spring. To keep the upshift spring from popping out of place during reassembly, I had to bend both tabs quite drastically using needlenose pliers. This photograph shows the final angle of the lower tab. The tab is on the side closest to the camera, so that the bend in the wire is less than 90 degrees.
