The Wall Driving back home from Berlin, I reviewed the things I saw and came up with this. I hope you enjoy it!

The Wall

I stand before a barrier
of the coldest steel and stone
Though there's no one here but ready guns
I know I cannot be alone

Is freedom worth the fight?
is truth to wrong to make it right?
I won't know 'til I cross tonight
is there shadow in the light?

I stand before a barrier
the graveyard of my brother's gone
A spotlight scans the barren Wall
I cannot stop, I must go on

Is freedom worth the fight?
is truth too wrong to turn to right?
I'll know if I cross tonight
if I see the morning light

..........written by Jeff Hartline in dedications to the last man who attempted to cross the Wall only six months before it was torn down in November of 1989.
