Commentary Grading
I believe that everyone will do some grading in this class.
I am going to make grading assignments randomly.
When given a commentary, grade it asap. The date on the
course calendar is to remind you to finish your grading.
I really do not want to badger you, so please grade quickly.
Commentary Grading Policy
Commentaries require a thoughtful grading effort on your part.
You might read all of the commentaries once prior to reading
for a grade.
Usually, there will be a series of questions or
a comparison required.
Your task is to determine the reasonableness of
the response as expressed in the commentary.
Also, you are to consider writing ability and style.
-
Read the Commentary.
-
Comment on spelling, organization, thoughtfulness, etc.
-
Evaluate whether the commentary satisfies the
requirements,
i.e., questions reasonably answered,
reasonable comparisons, etc.
-
Grade on a 0, 3, 7, 10
basis
-
0 - very few, tried to sneak in something not appropriate
-
3 - hopefully very few, a weak attempt, done quickly without much thought.
-
7 - usual grade, adequately fulfilled
the commentary requirements.
-
10 - hopefully many, really took the commentary to heart,
a deep or interesting analysis.
