Commentary Grading Policy

I will grade all the commentaries in this class. In the past, I have used students to help, but this semester there are a small number of students.

My approach to grading commentaries:

Read the Commentary.
Comment on spelling, organization, thoughtfulness, etc.
Evaluate whether the commentary satisfies the requirements, i.e., questions reasonably answered, reasonable comparisons, etc.
Grade on a 0, 3, 7, 10 basis
- 0 - very few, tried to sneak in something not appropriate
- 3 - hopefully very few, a weak attempt, done quickly without much thought.
- 7 - usual grade, adequately fulfilled the commentary requirements.
- 10 - hopefully many, really took the commentary to heart, a deep or interesting analysis.
