Exam Policy
For both the midterm and the final, the emphasis is
on conceptual undertanding, not memorizing trivial syntactic
details. As a result, you may use
a single, two-sided piece of 8.5 by 11 paper with your
own, prepared set of notes for both exams. It's a good
idea to put on that sheet any details that you might otherwise
feel nervous about forgetting. Also, simply preparing it
will be good preparation for the exam itself.
Other than this piece of paper, the exams are closed-book, closed-note,
and to be taken alone.
