Investigations are short assignments designed to have you explore the topics we discuss in class in a little more detail. The investigations are listed below; please follow the submission guidelines below.
- Investigation 1: Everyday Things, Due Thursday, Jan 18
- Investigation 2: Observing Users and Discovering Tasks, Due Tuesday, Jan 31
- Investigation 3: Simple Interface Design, Due Thrusday, Feb 9
- Investigation 4: Prototype Construction and Testing, Due Tuesday, Feb 14 (prototype) and Tuesday, Feb 21 (final)
- Investigation 5: Speech and Natural Language, Due Thursday, Mar 9
- Investigation 6: Interface Agents, Due Tuesday, April 4
- Investigation 7: Ubiquitous Computing, Due Tuesday, Apr 18
- Investigation 8: Pen-Based UIs, Due Friday, Apr 28
Submission Guidelines
Investigations are due by email to me, in either Word (.doc) or PDF (.pdf) format before class on the day they are due. You should name your file with the investigation number and your last name. For example, my investigation 1 file would be called "I1Alvarado.doc". The subjectof your email should contain be similar: make sure you include CS182, the investigation number and your last name, e.g.: "CS182 Investigation 1, Alvarado". Please follow these naming conventions to ensure that your assignments do not get lost in my inbox.
