Investigations are short assignments designed to have you explore the topics we discuss in class in a little more detail. The investigations are listed below; please follow the submission guidelines below.
Only the first 4 investigations are required for CS182.
- Investigation 1: Everyday Things, Due Monday, Jan 25, 2:45pm
- Investigation 2: Observing Users and Discovering Tasks, Due Friday, Feb 5, 11:55pm
- Investigation 3: Simple Interface Design, Due Friday, Feb 12, 11:55pm
- Investigation 4: Prototype Construction and Testing, Due Wednesday, Feb 17 (prototype) and Wednesday, Feb 24 (final) (both 2:45pm)
- Investigation 5: Speech and Natural Language, Due Friday, March 26, 11:55pm
- Investigation 6: Pen-Based UIs, Due Tuesday, Apr 12, 11:55pm
- Investigation 7: Ubiquitous Interfaces, Due Wednesday, Apr 28, 2:45pm
Submission Guidelines
Investigations are due electronically, in pdf or Word format, on Sakai before class on the day they are due (or by the time indicated above). Late assignments will not be accepted. Seriously. But rember you can use your late days... (see the policies page for more details)
