My preferences are milk teas that are creamy, so this list is biased towards
those drinks, and I typically go for 25% to 50% sugar, which every place does
differently.
The ranking goes from favorite to least favorite, and I use an app called
Beli to help me
track my boba rankings (clicking on the link may ask you to download the app,
but will otherwise take you to my profile if you already have it).
Unranked
I haven't ranked these places because I always like to have a picture with my
Beli submissions. I've had them before and would go back.
Krak Boba
Nobibi
Ding Tea
Gong Cha
Ten Ren Tea (now Green Shaker)
Ranked
CHICHA San Chen (Chino)
They say they're the equivalent of a Michelin Star for tea. However, they
are quite expensive which may be a turn off for most. I get the tea + cream
option at 50%.
Cup of Cha Tea House
There used to be a location in Upland, and I really enjoyed the creaminess.
I think it holds a top spot due to the memory of enjoyment. The drink I would
get was Jasmine and Pearls at their regular (50% recommended) sweetness.
The Boba Kafe (Montclair)
Nice vibes. Loved their Oolong Oat Milk Tea at 50% sugar.
Wushiland Boba (Chino & Eastvale)
I enjoy the taste, but I also admit that I'll never finish a cup because it's
too 'rich in taste.' You should always get less sugar here and less boba.
Cafe 86 (Rancho Cucamonga)
I enjoy getting 'The Mermaid' which is a jasmine salted cream tea. I think this
is the only drink on this list that is salted.
R&B Tea (Ontario Mills & Corona) & Sunright Tea Studio
(Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Eastvale)
Technically, Sunright is at 7 on my list, but in my head I have these both ranked
closely. For me, they are both solid and you can never go wrong with getting a
drink from these places (if you like Jasmine Milk Tea).
Kung Fu Tea (Rancho Cucamonga)
Should always go with less sugar here, which always tastes really good for me.
Tastea (Riverside & Chino Hills)
Unique for having green boba. The taste is also leaning more towards the tea side
more than all my other listed places. I enjoy that this place actually has food since
not many boba places serve food anymore, like popcorn chicken.
OMOMO Tea Shoppe (Chino)
For some reason, I don't leave this place thinking it's amazing (for their Jasmine
Milk Tea). I think they're more known for Matcha. However, they're still pretty solid.
Bobo the Boba (Upland)
Jasmine Milk Tea at 25% sugar here. It was good and the floral notes come out.
L'moon Creamery (Upland)
I think I need to go back and up the sugar since I did 50% here. However, I try my
best to be dairy free, and unfortunately, this place only does Almond milk, which I'm
allergic to.
HaiCha (Pasadena)
The service was nice and the guy working there (presumably the owner) reminded me of
those friendly Asian dads. It has the vibe of a study spot with 'homey' clutter.
The Alley (Fontana)
I want to like this place since it's new and has a very aesthetic vibe, but no matter
how many times I keep going back and asking for 25% to 50% sugar, it comes out very,
very sweet.
It's Boba Time (Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Chino Hills)
It used to be a favorite, but it's been mid over the years for me.
Tim Boba (Riverside)
I remember going to the one down the street from UCR and thinking how catered it was
to students (printer and Wi-Fi). They have another location by Tyler Mall as well.
Their Jasmine Milk Tea was okay because it wasn't creamy enough.
bobaTEAque (Orange)
Not a fan. Jasmine Milk Tea at 50%.
85°C Bakery (Claremont, Eastvale, Chino Hills, Corona)
It was not good.
Boba Tea Planets (Pomona)
Not a fan at all. I didn't finish my drink.
