There are many organizations that are for people "in tech" which isn't limited to just
computer science. However, you may find that they align with your career goals.
Major Professional Organizations
Association for Computing
Machinery: One of the major computer science organizations, it focuses more
on the theory side with its strength in special interest groups, such as SIGCSE.
IEEE: which is the
"Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers", but legally can just be
referred to as "eye-triple-e." This is another top organization in computer
science with a stronger focus on software and hardware (so more engineer-y).
AnitaB.org: For women and
non-binary in tech, best known for their Grace Hopper Celebration conference.
SWE: Another major organization for
women in STEM (mostly engineering).
NSBE: which is the "National
Society of Black Engineers" and reportedly is well known for giving on the spot
job offers.
SHPE: which is the "Society of
Hispanic Professional Engineers" and is the main hub for supportin Hispanics in
STEM.

software engineers, technologists, and entrepreneurs
ColorStack.org: for
Black and Latinx Computer Science students
