ProfessorWright professes philosophy. He may also profess ObjectivIsm
?, which makes a terrible
WikiName. Its value as a philosophy is open to debate.
I found this quotation on the [Ayn Rand Institute web site]. Professor Wright was writing the "Philosophy" section of the "Student Survival Guide".
- Besides providing a base for ethics and politics, metaphysics and epistemology determine how one approaches the natural sciences and the humanities. Indeterminism in physics, determinism in psychology, the theory-practice dichotomy in economics, the postmodernist denial of truth in history, [...] is the result of the basic premises its practitioners work from — implicitly or explicitly — about the nature of man, the universe, and man's means of knowledge.
I think that's just funny how he juxtaposed the "indeterminism" and "determinism" bits. What I can't figure out is whether he's [innocent or guilty] of the Law of Eristic Escalation. Either way, Wright's contribution stands out for its, well, objectivity in the survival guide-- see the section on PhySics. Better yet, don't.
