[Home]MathPurityTest

See also the MathContinuityTest.

A MathPurityTest already exists, but it tests silly things like how much math you know. The real question, as we all know, is whether you're pure or applied. To this end, add questions to the test to determine whether you're pure or applied.

Pure Math Questions (Get a point if you answer yes)

Have you ever said (and meant) any of the following:

  1. "Applied is only a word we use to get funding."
  2. "The universe is an approximation of mathematics."

Applied Math Questions (Get a point if you answer no)

  1. Have you ever modeled something?
  2. ... And enjoyed it?
  3. Have you ever used a Dirac delta function?
  4. Have you ever squared an operator?
