[Home]PowerPuffGirls

No diff available--this is the first major revision. (minor diff)

Sugar, spice, and everything nice. These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little girls.... but Professor Utonium accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction: Chemical X. Thus, the Powerpuff Girls were born! Using their ultra-super-powers, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and the forces of evil. (approximation from memory of the show's intro; please feel free to correct.)

  Blossom, commander and the leader
Bubbles, she is the joy and the laughter
Buttercup, she is the toughest fighter
  Powerpuffs save the day!

Fighting crime, trying to save the world
Here they come just in time, the Powerpuff Girls
Fighting crime, trying to save the world
Here they come just in time, the Powerpuff Girls
  Powerpuff!

Quite simply the best show on television. They're in kindergarten, and they fight crime. How cool is that? On at 8:30 E.S.T. on the Cartoon Network (that's 5:30 in Claremont) and random other times during the week (the more obsessive among us constatnly check the Cartoon Network website for details, since it's more fun than working).

FunFact: The Powerpuff Girls were created by Craig McCracken (I love how even his name has crack in it) for a class project of some sort, and originally called the Whup-Ass Girls, as the original name of Chemical X was Whup-Ass. McCracken has said that the show is inspired by such classic TV on two levels as the original Adam West-Burt Ward Batman series of the '60s, which is why the show may seem completely inappropriate for children (senseless violence, yadda-yadda).

Mojo Jojo is the arch-enemy of the Powerpuff girls, and he's pretty cool, too, enough so to be endorsed by everyone's favorite elected EastDormProctor:

Mojo gets some of the best lines in Powerpuff history, such as those in the following exchange:

Professor Utonium (in Power Prof mode): "Not so fast, Mo-Jo Jo-Jo!"
Girls (embarrassed whisper): It's fast, professor, fast! Mojo Jojo!
Mojo: You will paay for your use of inappropriate dialogue!

and the ever-popular

There is only one Mojo Jojo, and the number of Mojo Jojos is one. Two is too many, and three is right out. -- Mojo Jojo.

The only drawback of this show is that it shortens TracyvanCort's attention span (more so than usual, even) but she blames the commercials on the Cartoon Network, and happily maintains her addiction.
