The trophies for the 1997 International Competition

Summary

• In the first year of participation, our team composed of Andrew Ross, Dan Snyder, and Nathan Tuck won fifth place in the Southern California Regional competition, held at UC Irvine.
• In the second year, our team composed of Beth Coleman, Chris Sloan, and Kevin Watkins won fourth place in the Regionals, held at UC San Diego.
• In the third year, the team composed of Brian Carnes, Brian Johnson, and Kevin Watkins won the Southern California Regional, held at CSU Northridge. It was the only team out of 37 competing teams to solve five problems. The team went on to compete in the International Competition at ACM's Fiftieth International Conference in San Jose, California. The team won first place out of fifty teams, winners from about 1000 regional competitors.
