Week 1 Activity: Research Pitches

This week we have our Summer Research Opportunities, an in-person colloquium event hosted by Prof. Xanda Schofield, on Thursday, January 18, 2023 in Galileo. The talk begins at 4:15 PM, but a reception with refreshments will be held outside at 4:00 PM.

  • If you're in Section 1, we expect you to attend the event when it occurs (synchronously).
  • If you're in Section 2, we will try to have a recorded video from the event available afterwards.

Abstract

Interested in working on computing projects at Harvey Mudd this summer? Come hear about the amazing opportunities we have as part of our Summer of CS program in 2024! We'll spend a few minutes going over how our summer program is structured, then we'll sprint through pitches from your favorite professors about their planned summer projects. This pitch session is open to any current 5C student interested in summer research at Harvey Mudd in computing topics, whether or not they're a CS major! Stay tuned for more about these opportunities, as well as the upcoming URO application cycle.
