Notes about specific labs:
- Lab 1 — Bits
- The only thing people lost points for on this assignment were small style issues (lack of comments, over-complicated code, etc.).
- Lab 2 — Debugging
- See this page for detailed grading information.
- Lab 3 — Bomb Lab
- Everyone did great on this one!
- Lab 4 — Ring Buffer
- Everyone's code worked. A few people lost points for submitting code that didn't compile because of some last-minute change or spurious print statements.
- Lab 5 — Attack Lab
- Everyone's got the required stuff. One team got the optional part, too.
- Lab 6 — fgrep
- Generally, really good. A few little things in testing, like files without a newline at the end caused minor discrepancies in output that cost a few points. Also, some people lost a style point or two for long lines, lack of comments, etc. Overall though, really good effort from everyone on this one!
- Lab 7 — Cache Lab (optional)
- Only two teams attempted this one. The percentage shown is a bonus percent that gets added to your overall grade (well, technically one sixth of that percentage so it counts the same as the other six labs). For folks who got 100%, the bonus is equivalent to it subbing in for your lowest lab score. For folks who just attempted it, it's a five percent bonus on top of your overall grade. For folks who didn't attempt it, it's no bonus but also no penalty.
Quizzes
This section shows your scores on course quizzes.

Exams
This section shows your scores on the midterm and a guess for your grade on the final based on your performance on the midterm.
You can see detailed grading information for the midterm on the midterm exam page.
Overall
This section shows your overall grade in the course, which is a weighted average of your scores for participation, labs, quizzes, and exams. Because the course is not complete yet, this grade is just a guess based on the work you've done so far, but it should give you a sense of how you're doing in the course and where you might want to focus your efforts for the rest of the semester.
Wrapping Up
Hopefully the above information is helpful in giving you a sense of how you're doing in the course. If any grade in any of these sections seems very different from what you were expecting, talk to Prof. Melissa about it in case something went awry.
(When logged in, completion status appears here.)
