Welcome to the
SmogWarts school of Geekcraft and Misery. Allow us to introduce you to some common faces, places, and strange (or not-so-strange) similarities:
Professors
Dumbledore : ProfessorHelliwell
Lupin : ProfessorLevin
Mcgonagall : ProfessorKarukstis
- No way is Karukstis Mcgonagall......perhaps Proy5?{tis might be McGonagall? from the movies, but not from the books. In the movies she's all stern and spinster-y, in the books I think she's actually supposed to be rather attractive.
- Are you trying to say Karukstis isn't attractive? Just you wait till she takes off those glasses and lets her hair down. Pure chemistry. ba-dum-psh
- She's exactly what I imagined McGonagall? being like before the movies came out. Good call.
Snape : ProfessorVanHecke
Mad Eye Moody : ProfessorMoody
- Yes, partly for the whole name thing, but the character seems to fit as well, in my opinion.
- I was going to say Evans...
Hagrid : ProfCave?
- Thinking metaphorically here, not so much visually. Gee, really?
Umbridge: Blanche Pringle
- Sent in as high inquisitor (Diversity Director) by the ministry of Political Correctness and asserts that Mudd is in bad shape...
Slughorn: ProfessorEvans
- He's rich, egotistical, brags a lot in class, and has slightly shady morals. What more could you ask for?
Students:
Harry : MichaelVrable
- I'm flattered. Though having read all the books now, I do have to say that I think I'm better at following school rules than Harry seems to be. --MichaelVrable
- I was thinking of saving Vrable for Percy, no offense.
- Vrable's too Vrablish to be Percy, though.
Hermione : ArielBarton
- I'm also flattered.
- Hermione also = KarenBrown?, though most of you probably don't know her. For those of you who do, think her shooting her hand up and calling out "PROFESSOR IVEY!?" at one of Prof. Ivey's board mistakes.
- Since Ariel has graduated, I'd like to nominate AlyssaDray as the new Hermione of SmogWarts.
- Historical revisionism is bad!
- The survivors write the books, Trystan, since BeforeYouWereBorn. That's how it's always been, and that's how it always WILL BE!
- Except of course, that the ghosts of Christmas past still use FunWiki, so graduates live on here.
Ron : I'm tempted to say ProfessorRan, except for the whole NotActuallyMakingAnySense? thing.
- How 'bout JeffBrenion?
- No. He's not nearly innocent enough.
- Cal. 'Nough said.
- Wait. What were you saying about innocent?
Fred and George Weasley : LucasBaker and ShamikMaitra? yes
Oliver Wood: JoelMiller??
Other Persons:
Nearly Headless Nick : ProfDodds?
Voldemort : NickJohnson
- He's the evil wizard who failed to kill Harry as a baby.
- You know, I think the ULTIMATE EVIL needs to be something more abstract, like FroshChem or SleepDep --NunchuckFrosh
- FroshChem and SleepDep are both fun and easy, SillyFrosh.
- And Voldemort is a specific evil person, not the ULTIMATE EVIL. He just happens to be, um, really evil.
- Well, if Petersen isn't Snape, maybe he fits in here. Eh?
- Possibly, but Nick fits rather too well in my opinion.
Dobby the House Elf : F & M
Places:
The Dark Forest : Pitzer
Hogsmeade : ClaremontVillage?
Diagon Alley : Huntley
Subjects:
Potions : Chemistry
Charms : Computer Science (more specifically, computer programming)
Transfiguration : Molecular Biology
Care of Magical Creatures : Exp Ecology Lab
Herbology : Bio52
Arithmancy : Discrete
Defense Against the Dark Arts : PE
- Huh?
- Fencing, judo, kick boxing, riflery, archery...
Defense Against the Dark Arts extra practice sessions : ITRgames
Divination, History of Magic : Hum
Houses:
Should they just be the quad for simplicity?
Gryffindor : North
Ravenclaw : East
Slytherin : West
Hufflepuff : South
- These are a humble opinion, feel free to change them.
- Has North really changed that much recently? They were definitely Slytherin two years ago.
- Not really sure, I don't know north that well. I just thought of West as more destructive. Really, it just comes down to South and East being right, and then trying to figure out which of North and West is Gryffindor, and which is Slytherin.
- I would say that East's unity with West on things like BroomBall would give us cause to be nicer to them than Slytherin. Speaking of BroomBall .. Quidditch == BroomBall??
- The thing is, there isn't /really/ an equivalent to West on Hogwarts, and there isn't /really/ an equivalent to Slytherin on Mudd (that whole HonorCode thing is kind of nice that way). Although Gryffindor definitely fits North.
- How about Linde for Slytherin?
