In observance of Martin Luther King Day, all administrative offices will be closed. Spring classes do not begin until January 17.

Spring semester classes begin today.

This Wednesday, February 1 at noon, computer scientist Dr. Matt Ginsburg will be speaking about Dr. Fill, a program that solves crossword puzzles using a technique called constraint satisfaction. Dr. Fill is ranked as one of the top 50 crosswords solvers (human or automated) in the world.

This talk is intended to be accessible to students from CS 60 onwards. (Those of you taking CS 60 might enjoy the connections to ideas that you’ll be seeing in Prolog soon!)
